Bhubaneswar: Out of the students selected for the first phase of admission under the SAMS (Student Academic Management System) +3 (degree) e-admission process, only 76,000 have enrolled so far, leaving around 1 lakh students yet to take admission. The admission process initially ran from June 12 to 17. However, since less than half of the selected candidates have enrolled, the Higher Education Department has extended the admission deadline till Saturday, June 21, by 3 PM.
Meanwhile, the second merit list for admission will be published on June 22.
According to a social media post by the Higher Education Department, the students who were selected in the first merit list but have not yet taken admission can still do so by June 21, before 3 PM. Once they select their admission option, they must also pay the admission fee.
A total of 1,75,722 students were selected for the first phase admission for the academic session 2025–26. Among them:
Science: 45,855 students
Arts: 1,07,069 students
Commerce: 16,205 students
Sanskrit (Shastri): 3,371 students
Self-financed courses: 3,051 students
Law: 171 students
As per SAMS data, only 76,000 students have taken admission so far.
Hence, the department has given another opportunity to the selected students to complete their admission process by June 21. The second merit list will be released on June 22, and admission for this phase will take place from June 22 to 25.
The third merit list will be published on July 1, and admission for that phase will be conducted from July 1 to 4.
All admission processes will conclude by July 15, and classes will begin from July 10.
