Sambalpur,3rd Nov 2025:In memory of notable personalities from Western Odisha who passed away in the last 20 years, the upcoming Sambalpur Mahotsav, starting on 15th November, will include various cultural programs, exhibitions, and stage arrangements to honor their contributions. Late Padma Shri awardees Vinod Pasharat and others will be commemorated during this event.

Dr. Rajendra Panda, literary figure and administrator, along with Bipi H. Bipin Mahananda and literary expert M. Manohar, stated that the festival is dedicated to their memories. Such commemorations inspire us to achieve higher recognition.

Committee member Sadananda Panda emphasized that through the Sambalpur Mahotsav, efforts are being made to preserve and promote literature, culture, and heritage. Several programs in this direction are planned for this year.

The festival will include various activities, such as exhibitions, theater, and cultural programs, dedicated to the memories of distinguished individuals of the region. Important personalities from the community, including Subas Panigrahi, have provided input for organizing the festival effectively.

Dr. Shashank Shekhar Panda highlighted that the Sambalpur Mahotsav is truly a national-level festival due to the participation of local artists who have reached national recognition. Committee members, including social worker Karib Prasad, stressed the festival’s role in preserving Western Odisha’s cultural identity.

Committee member Bharati Panda noted that the festival annually promotes regional dance, music, literature, culture, and traditions. Workshops, poetry readings, and other sessions give local literary talents an opportunity to showcase their skills.

The festival also encourages regional musical and dance talents, with guidance from experts like Guru Durgaprasad Dash. Artists from various areas, including poets, dramatists, and musicians, participate, receiving mentorship and advice on stage management and performance.

Proposals for traditional Sambalpuri food competitions have been introduced to engage the public culturally. The festival also emphasizes attention to public health and safety, as advised by leaders and healthcare professionals.

Experienced announcers, stage managers, and coordinators such as Dharanidhar Nath, Subyanand, and others have been appointed to ensure smooth conduct of performances, exhibitions, and other events. Digital content creators and organizers, including Rabindra Panda and Loknath Pujari, will oversee social media promotion and documentation.

The organizing committee has planned further expansions and preparations for upcoming days, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place for the festival.
