Nabarangpur, 25th Aug 2025: Vijay Kumar Choudhury, Advisor of Sambad Sahityaghara and former Chairman of the District Child Welfare Committee, celebrated his 75th birthday in a unique way at the Utkal Girls’ Orphanage, Majhiguda.
For nearly 15 years, Mr. Choudhury has been observing his birthdays at this orphanage. Continuing the tradition, he visited the institution this morning, planted a mango sapling, cut a cake along with the inmates, and distributed sweets. He also handed out water bottles and towels to the children.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Choudhury said that all the orphanage residents are like members of his family, and he would always remain with them through their joys and sorrows.
His thoughtful way of celebrating birthdays has been warmly welcomed by the local community.
