Hanga,  Nov 27: For the development of the famous Kumuda Market under Kuhunda Panchayat in Mahanga Block, the local MLA has provided a financial grant of Rs 10 lakh. Farmers and traders have expressed their happiness over this initiative.

This ancient market, established during the British era, used to attract people from far and wide for trade. Kumuda Market is well-known in Odisha, especially for cattle trading, but for the past three decades, cattle trading had largely stopped here. With the market’s operations declining due to past mismanagement, the Kuhunda Development Council informed local MLA Sharada Prasad Pradhan about the situation.

Considering the broader interests of farmers and traders, the MLA provided a financial grant of ₹10 lakh for the development of Kumuda Market. The block administration has expressed its willingness to construct a new market complex with this fund. Traders and small-scale farmers, who were previously conducting business in unsafe conditions, are happy about the construction of the new market complex.
