Rs 13 Crore Spent on Dubai Mission Trip, Reveals Report

Bhubaneswar:30th Aug 2025: During its tenure, the Mission Shakti Department sent officials on a “Dubai Mission” for training and exposure, reportedly spending a total of Rs 13.48 crore from government funds over five and a half months.

According to information obtained under the Right to Information Act, between 15th November 2023 and 1st April 2024, a total of 959 officials were taken to Dubai. Among them, 763 were from Mission Shakti, 15 from the Water Resources Department, 36 from the Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes Development Department, and 36 from the Women & Child Development Department.

The expenditure included:

Air tickets: Rs 3.63 crore

Travel insurance: Rs 6.89 lakh

Visa charges: Rs 86.15 lakh

Allowances: Rs 1.18 crore

Local logistics: Rs 38.12 lakh

Accommodation in Dubai: Rs 7.92 crore

This Dubai mission reportedly took place 26 times, covering a total of 959 officials over the period, highlighting the scale of the overseas training program by the Mission Shakti Department.
