Bhubaneswar,: The committee for the preparation and review of the Record of Rights (RoR) of Lord Shri Lingaraj was officially inaugurated on Tuesday at the Independent Circuit House in Bhubaneswar. The committee was inaugurated by its chairman, retired Justice Dr. Durga Prasanna Chaudhury.
Committee members include Professor Prafulla Kumar Mishra, officials from the Law Department, Independent Governance Secretary Pranab Kumar Patra, Additional Governance Secretary Arun Kumar Sahu, and Additional Governance Secretary (Judicial) Shiba Prasad Mahapatra. They discussed the working procedures of the committee.
It is noteworthy that the Odisha Government has constituted a two-member committee, headed by retired High Court Justice Dr. Durga Prasanna Chaudhury, to review and finalize the Record of Rights (RoR) related to the various ritual services and duties performed by different servitor groups at the Ekamra-based Shri Lingaraj Temple.
The official notification for the formation of this committee was issued by the state government on May 8. Today, the office of this committee was inaugurated at the Independent Circuit House in Bhubaneswar.
The committee will conduct a detailed study regarding the various rituals, duties, and rights of the temple servitors, and will submit a report to the state government. In this regard, the Khordha District Collector has been asked by the committee to provide daily routine-related documents and records of rituals pertaining to Lord Lingaraj.
