Bhitarkanika, 13th Sept 2025: The resident bird census for the current year has been successfully completed at Bhitarkanika National Park. According to official reports, more than 673 individual birds have been identified so far.
During this census drive, scientists and officials noted that many bird species are flocking to Bhitarkanika due to its favorable natural conditions, including wetlands and abundant food availability.
Bhitarkanika is recognized as a significant Ramsar site in India and serves as a vital habitat for aquatic species. Every year, both resident and migratory bird censuses are conducted here.
