Bhubaneswar, 28th July 2025: Due to the influence of a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, widespread rainfall is occurring across Odisha. Today, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh, prompting the Meteorological Department to issue an Orange Warning for these districts. For the rest of the districts, a Yellow Warning has been issued as they may experience moderate to heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms with lightning and wind speeds ranging from 30 to 40 km/h are also expected in many areas. Rainfall activity is likely to continue till July 29, after which intensity may begin to decrease from July 30. The sea remains rough, and fisherfolk have been advised not to venture into the sea during this period.
