Nabarangpur, Jan, 16:  The Regional Agricultural Machinery Fair for the year 2025–26 was inaugurated today at the New Mandi Ground in Nabarangpur.

The fair was held under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain. The chief guest was Rajya Sabha MP Mujibulla Khan, while Nabarangpur MLA Gaurishankar Majhi attended as a special guest. Other distinguished guests included Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Biswalit Barman, Chief Engineer, Agriculture Department Bishnu Prasad Mishra, DKM, Odisha Agro Industries Corporation Lalit Mohan Jena, and Lok Sabha MP’s representative Jyoti Ranjan Kans.

The dignitaries first visited all the stalls set up at the fair. The event began with a welcome address by Chief District Agriculture Officer Sudhir Ranjan Behera.
District-level officers from the Agriculture, Fisheries, and Horticulture Departments, farmers from all blocks of the district, and members of the media were present.
A total of 115 stalls have been set up at the fair, including those of various agricultural machinery manufacturers and dealers, as well as food stalls.

Various agencies displayed tractors, rotavators, combine harvesters, paddy threshers, pump sets, drones, solar pumps, power tillers, garden tools, and other modern agricultural equipment. Farmers were also informed about various government schemes related to agriculture. Ten millet-based food producers also participated.
The main objective of the fair is to inform farmers about government financial assistance, subsidies, concessional purchase of farm machinery, bank loan facilities, new agricultural technologies, and their use, as well as to educate farmers about different schemes through Farmer Schools.

On this occasion, 10 farmers were provided with new tractors with subsidy support by the dignitaries.

The guests urged farmers to increase their income by using modern farm machinery and to visit all the stalls and apply online for subsidy assistance.

At the end of the program, District Agriculture Officer Anil Praharaj proposed a vote of thanks.
