Regional Agricultural Machinery Fair Enters Its Third Day with Enthusiastic Participation

Koraput: The Regional Agricultural Machinery Fair in Koraput district, organized under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Government of Odisha, entered its third day with Dr. Aravind Padhee, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department, attending as the chief guest.

Several dignitaries were present, including Jaypur Sub-Collector Sushree Akbaram Sasya Reddy, Koraput Horticulture Deputy Director Sudam Chandra Vishal, Jaypur Tahsildar Sabyasachi Jena, Group Development Officer Shakti Mahapatra, District Chief Agriculture Officer Gokul Chandra Pradhan, Executive Engineer (Agriculture) Santosh Kumar Mishra, and District Agriculture Officer Lochan Chandra Majhi from Jaypur, Nandapur, and Narayanpatna.

During the event, Dr. Padhee encouraged farmers to adopt modern knowledge and advanced agricultural machinery to make Odisha a leading agricultural state in India. Special emphasis was given to promoting potato cultivation during the Kharif season in Koraput district. Discussions were also held on how changing temperatures impact farming and how government initiatives can support efficient agricultural practices.

The event also highlighted the Chief Minister’s Agriculture Entrepreneurship Scheme, explaining how more farmers can benefit and become self-reliant. Other guest speakers elaborated on the use of modern agricultural machinery and new farming techniques to enhance productivity and efficiency.

As part of the event, 11 progressive farmers from the district were felicitated for their success in agriculture.
