Redhakhol, 9th Aug 2025: A preparatory meeting for the Redhakhol sub-divisional level Independence Day celebration was held on Tuesday at the Rajiv Gandhi Hall in the local Block office. The meeting was chaired by Sub-Collector Rashmiranjan, with active participation from officials and dignitaries.
Among those present were Tahsildar Prabhat Ranjan Biswal, Assistant Collector Truptimayee Sahu, Sarada Maharana, Ajit Dehura, BDO Rajendra Narayan Senapati, NAC Executive Officer Ranjan Kumar Martha, senior advocate Shiv Prasad Pradhan, social worker Anadi Sahu, and Bhima Bhoi College English lecturer Anchala Kumar Mishra, along with headmasters, teachers, and prominent citizens from various educational institutions.
The meeting involved thoughtful discussions and suggestions on how to organize this year’s Independence Day celebrations in a dignified and inclusive manner.
Sub-Divisional Information and Public Relations Officer Chandrama Marai read out a report on the previous year’s events and thanked everyone for their cooperation.
Key Decisions:
- Ramdhun Procession: At 5:00 AM on Independence Day, a Ramdhun (devotional chanting) procession will be held across the town, led by the Information and Public Relations Department.
- Garlanding of Statues: Sub-Collector and other officials will garland statues of eminent personalities across town.
- Flag Hoisting: All institutions must hoist the National Flag by 8:00 AM.
- Main Event: The central celebration will take place at the local mini stadium at 9:15 AM, where the Sub-Collector will be the Chief Guest and receive the salute from the combined parade.
- Distribution of Fruits and Sweets: Fruits and sweets will be distributed at the Sub-Divisional Hospital and Sub-Jail.
- Various other events were also discussed as part of the day’s celebration plan.
