Rayagada Sees Surge in Young Women Driving Without Licenses

Rayagada: Driving without a license has proven costly. A young woman driving on the Kereda-Rayagada road was stopped by traffic police. Since she did not have a driving license or other necessary documents, the police issued a hefty fine.

Many young women are riding scooters without a license. A license is mandatory for riding a bike. Due to the absence of a license, fines totaling Rs1,24,000 have been collected from 27 young men and women for driving without a license.

Moving forward, there will be stricter inspections and enforcement regarding licenses, said Traffic Officer Prabhas Bagla.
