Bhubaneswar, Strict Action on Ration Card e-KYC from the 15th The process of ration card e-KYC will commence on the 15th of this month. As of now, around 37,85,496 beneficiaries have not completed their e-KYC. Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra has urged these beneficiaries to complete the e-KYC within the next six days.
There will be no extension of the e-KYC deadline beyond February 15. Those who fail to complete their e-KYC within this period will be considered ineligible, and their ration cards will be canceled.
Additionally, if ineligible individuals do not return their ration cards voluntarily, the government will take them back. New beneficiaries will also be added to the system, with around 6 lakh new applicants having already applied for ration cards.
The Minister further informed that there have been reports of income taxpayers illegally possessing ration cards to avail benefits like health cards. These ration cards will also be canceled. Officers have been directed to conduct thorough surveys to identify such ineligible beneficiaries.
If any written complaints are received regarding ineligible individuals holding ration cards, strict action will be taken against those involved, the Minister warned.
