Rasulpur: In Rasulpur block, 168 families who are employed in government jobs have been found to be holding ration cards. These families have been informed through the panchayat to return their cards. The department has initiated the process of excluding taxpayers, four-wheeler owners, and families with a monthly income of ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 from the ration card scheme.

As a result, 1,312 ineligible families in the block have been identified as holding ration cards. Since their monthly income from various sources ranges between Rs10,000 and Rs15,000, they will be removed from the scheme. All panchayats have been notified regarding this decision. An investigation is being conducted by Panchayat Executive Officers, Junior Engineers, EDOs, Supply Officers, and other officials. After the investigation report is submitted, the ineligible families will be asked to return their ration cards, as per the Block Supply Department.

The investigation process is expected to start soon. Meanwhile, the state government has extended the e-KYC deadline until March 31. During this period, ineligible cardholders will be removed from the scheme, and 100% e-KYC completion will be ensured. Once this process is completed, the ration card website is likely to be reopened. After reopening, eligible applicants who were unable to add their names due to the site’s closure will be able to register. Women applicants will be provided with new ration cards.

The ration card website has remained closed for a long time due to the ongoing removal of ineligible cardholders and e-KYC updates. This has led to dissatisfaction among the general public. Therefore, there is a strong demand for reopening the site and allowing eligible beneficiaries to be included in the ration card scheme.
