Nandapur, Dec, 19: A meeting of the Nandapur Tourism Development Council was held on Wednesday at the block office campus of Nandapur in Koraput district. The meeting was chaired by B.D. Durga Prasad Dora.
Present at the meeting were three vice presidents of the council – Gopal Krishna Beberta, Sheikh Gafur, Gopal Matam, MLA representative Kamesh Kamudi, editor Tushar Kant Mahanti, advisor Bhagwan Khara, forest officer Gopinath Pangi, and members Ram Krishna, Vijayalakshmi Pattnayak, Sariaput, Sarbati, Maliguda, Bahiripada, and local residents of Nandapur including Rabindra Samardi, Kanchan Khemundu, Kuni Dalapati, Bhuban Asandhari, among others.
The meeting focused on the formation of a sub-committee for the development and management of the Rani Duduma tourism site. After discussions, it was unanimously decided to form a special sub-committee with 21 members.
The committee will include:
Local sarpanchs and committee members
Forest officers
Revenue inspectors
Teachers
Five Nandapur police station officers
Seven permanent members from Nandapur city
Representatives from Sarbati, Badapada, Kandhghuda, Maliguda, Sariaput, Bahiripada villages
Two women members
One retired employee
The report was finalized accordingly.
A further meeting of the Tourism Development Council will be held on the 20th. Prior to this, the Forest Department and Revenue Department will jointly identify and provide land maps of the Rani Duduma area during the meeting. The committee will be approved for the construction of roads, parking, and other associated facilities on the identified land, as informed by B.D. Dora.
Discussions were ongoing during the meeting.
