Raghunath Pattnayak Foundation Urges Governor for RDC Office in Jeypore

Jeypore, 15th Sept 2025:  A demand has been made to establish a Regional Development Commissioner (RDC) office in Jeypore for Koraput district. The Raghunath Pattnayak Foundation has met the Governor to request this. Today, after the Governor’s review meeting held in Koraput, the foundation submitted a memorandum regarding this demand.

The memorandum mentions that the existing tribal welfare office is located in Brahmapur, which is about 240 km away from the central region of southern Odisha. Due to this distance, people face severe inconvenience. For important administrative purposes like land record modification and others, people have to travel a long distance to the office.

Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur are four districts sharing a common cultural, geographical, and demographic identity. Due to the distance from the RDC office, residents of these undivided districts have to undertake long journeys. To strengthen the upcoming census and administration, a dedicated RDC division for southern Odisha is urgently needed.

The demand asks the government to establish a Regional Development Commissioner division with headquarters in Jeypore for the undivided Koraput district.

During the submission of the memorandum, the foundation’s editor Pratish Pattnayak, Pratap Chandra Madala, Biren Mohan Pattnayak, S.K. Patra, Naveen Nayak, and others were present.
