Jeypore: Four young artists from the local region have showcased their talent at the All India Dance Olympiad – 2025, held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The performers—Amrita Dash, K. Dinesh Kumar, G. Saishruti, and A. Tanmay—represented Kalakriti Dance Academy and earned accolades at this prestigious national-level competition.
According to their dance teacher Y. Gaurishankar from Sambaratota, this is the first time his students participated in a national event and were rewarded for their performances. Gaurishankar, who has been teaching dance for the last three years, expressed his pride in their achievement.
The competition was held on 6th July at the Kalabharati Auditorium in Visakhapatnam, featuring around 40 dancers from various categories. Among them, the four students from Kalakriti Academy excelled in the Odissi dance category:
Amrita Dash secured 1st place in the Junior category
Dinesh Kumar achieved 2nd place in the Senior category
Saishruti ranked 1st in the Youth category
Tanmay earned 3rd place in the Youth category
Their success marks a proud moment for the academy and the local arts community.
