Puri: International Decency Prevention Movement Launches 10-Day Social Service Drive During Rath Yatra

Puri: During the annual Rath Yatra in Puri, the International Decency Prevention Movement organized a ten-day-long series of public service activities near the Shree Gundicha Temple. Under the direct supervision of the movement’s editor, Dr. Arundhati Devi, services such as free health camps, ambulance service, drinking water distribution, lemon juice service, prayer meetings, and perfume (aromatic) distribution were provided to lakhs of devotees.

The health camp was inaugurated by senior cardiologist Dr. Amulya Kumar Bishi and Dr. Gayatri Mohanty. Notable medical practitioners like Dr. Shibabrata Karan and Dr. Manas Brihaspati participated in treating patients. Bansidhar Sahu and Debashish Sahu contributed by distributing medicines.

Prominent members of the movement such as Guru Maa Mamata Pradhan, Manorama Devi, Geetanjali Swain, Urmila Behera, Kedarlakshmi Dash, Bidyuprabha Mishra, Charulata Devi from Rourkela, Bidulata Satapathy, Renubala Bishwal, Geeta Sahu, Manoranjan Mohanty, and Pradeep Kumar Jena led the water and perfume distribution efforts.

The camp was efficiently managed by students and youth volunteers such as Keertimaan, Chandan, Soumya, Ashish, Saroj, Bishal, Bishwajit, Mama, and Nini under the guidance of Professor Indramani Nayak.

On Shree Gundicha and Bahuda days, more than 500 patients were treated, while on other days, over 300 devotees daily received health services. Water bottles were distributed to devotees every day.

Ravindra Behera, Kailash Chandra Das, and Shantanu Jena assisted with ambulance and vehicle services. On Bahuda day morning, cleanliness drives were conducted at Chatusha Patha, Grand Road, and Saradhabali.

Members from various Shobhaneya Ashrams of Udayagiri, Cuttack, Puri, Konark, Rourkela, Bhubaneswar, Angul, and Buguda took part in these service activities. Especially from Shobhaneya Shiksha Ashrams in Karanjia, Sambalpur, and Mahlara Pada, volunteers such as Kalpataru, Nigamananda Ray, and Manas Kumar actively helped in managing the programs.
