Jeypore,8th Nov 2025: In the early winter, Koraput’s Malbhumi region is looking beautiful, attracting crowds of tourists eager to enjoy its unique scenery. The lush flax fields add to the charm, captivating visitors. Similarly, hundreds of tourists gather to witness the sunrise from Odisha’s highest peak, Deomali, and the sunset at Duduma Waterfall.

After the cyclone’s impact subsided, Koraput district is experiencing the onset of cold weather. In the interior regions of the district, nighttime temperatures have dropped to 8–9°C. Around the base of Deomali and Damanjodi mining areas, temperatures fall to 5–6°C at night. This has led to dense fog covering Koraput town and surrounding valleys. In the early morning, fog blankets the valleys and hills.

The Tourism Department is starting the “Putsil Eco Retreat” from November 15. In Deomali, due to administrative restrictions on overnight stays, tourists are camping in night camps at the base and nearby areas. Similarly, in Talmali, many tourists enjoy night camping and the cold winter air. The scenic beauty of Raniduduma in Nandapur and Duduma Waterfall in Machkund has become one of the major attractions for visitors.
