Cuttack: At a cultural event organized in the premises of Gadagadeswar Temple, a short story collection titled “Scattered Stories from Fresholoo”, written in English by Professor Prabhakar Mishra of the Commerce Department, Choudwar College, was officially launched.
The book was unveiled during the birth anniversary celebration of freedom fighter Gangadhar, organized by the Utkal Santan — an organization dedicated to the preservation of Odia language, literature, and culture.
Senior BJP leader Nayan Kishore Mohanty was the chief guest, with Dr. Rabindranath Mishra, retired professor of Hindi from Shantiniketan, as the keynote speaker, and Pandit Ashish Pati, a preacher of Lord Kalki, as the guest of honor. The event featured the formal release of the book.
On this occasion, renowned artist and Dharma Pad Award winner Mahendra Prasad Mahapatra was presented with the “Gangadhar Smruti Samman – 2025” by the chief guest Nayan Mohanty, on behalf of Odisha Lalit Kala Academy.
The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Jnanaguru Das, Central President of Utkal Santan. During the ceremony, Yogendra Nath Martha delivered the welcome address, and social worker Nibas Chandra Mishra introduced the guests.
Dr. Anindita Mahapatra, Central Secretary of the organization, provided insights into the multi-dimensional talents of freedom fighter Gangadhar.
Several dignitaries including Prof. Mishra, Krishnachandra Bala, Ramesh Chandra Sahu, Ranjit Swaain, Gangadhar Behera, Advocate Amarendu Mohanty, slum leader Brundaban Das Azad, Rajiv Sadangi, and Muralidhar Satapathy paid rich tributes and discussed Gangadhar’s spiritual personality.
The event was coordinated by Sarada Prasad Das, President of Society Changers; Pramod Behera (Bapuji), former corporator; social worker Bikram Lenka; journalist Prabhudatta Pradhan; and BJP leader Advocate Biswajita Jena.
In conclusion, Professor Prabhakar Mishra expressed his gratitude and shared detailed insights about his book.
