Professor Deepak Kumar Sahu Appointed New Vice-Chancellor of VSSUT, Burla

Bhubaneswar: Professor Deepak Kumar Sahu has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla. On Saturday, the Governor of Odisha and Chancellor of the University, Dr. Ganeshi Lal, officially appointed Professor Sahu to this position.

The 59-year-old Professor Sahu is currently serving as a Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).

After completing his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Professor Sahu pursued his M.Tech at CUSAT. He later earned his Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee and also completed an LL.B. degree.

Professor Sahu has 24 years of teaching experience and 14 years of experience as a Professor. He has also held various administrative roles, including Head of Department, Chairman of the Board of Studies, Dean of Faculty, Member of the Academic Council, and Senate Member.

In addition to his academic and administrative achievements, Professor Sahu has published a book, edited another, and reviewed six research papers. He has contributed to 35 publications in journals and books. Under his guidance, six research scholars have successfully earned their Ph.D. degrees.
