Bhubaneswar, 18th Nov 2025: Pre-census activities have started in Odisha ahead of the main census. The preliminary census will first be conducted in four regions on a pilot basis. By 30th of this month, the first phase of pre-house listing and house census will be completed. In Nabarangpur district, house counting will take place in 20 villages of Tentulikhunti. In Mayurbhanj district, house counting and house listing will be conducted in 44 villages of Thakurmunda. In Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, the pre-house census will be conducted in Ward No. 22. In Cuttack Municipal Corporation, house counting and listing will also take place in Ward No. 17. The exercise is being conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the State Census Directorate.
