President Trump Assigns Elon Musk to Rescue Stranded Astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore from Space

Kotpad 31st January 2025 The new President of the United States, Donald Trump, has assigned the responsibility of bringing back Sunita Williams and her colleague Butch Wilmore, who are stranded in space, to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. Both astronauts have been stuck in space since last June.

Regarding this, Trump wrote on social media, “I have asked Musk to bring our brave astronauts back. The Biden administration left them stranded in space. They have been waiting for rescue at the space station for months. I hope they are safe there.”

Similarly, Musk stated, “We will safely bring back our astronauts. Staying there for so long is a terrible situation.”

Notably, Sunita Williams has been in space for eight months. She embarked on her journey on June 5 last year and was supposed to return within weeks. Both astronauts had traveled for the test mission of Boeing’s new Starliner capsule. However, due to technical issues in the capsule, they got stuck on the International Space Station (ISS).
