Dehradun: On the second day of her three-day visit to Uttarakhand, President Droupadi Murmu visited the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities on Friday. There, specially-abled children greeted her with birthday wishes by singing a heartfelt song on the occasion of her 67th birthday, leaving the President visibly emotional.
The children sang the famous Hindi birthday song “Baar Baar Din Ye Aaye” in her honor. Upon hearing the song, the President was overwhelmed and teary-eyed on stage. A security personnel standing behind her handed her a handkerchief. She later shared that the song, sung so sincerely by the children, deeply touched her heart. A video of the emotional moment has since gone viral.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his birthday wishes to the President via social media. He wrote that her life and leadership continue to inspire millions across the country. Her unwavering commitment to public service, social justice, and inclusive development serves as a beacon of hope and strength for all. He added that she has always worked to empower the poor and the marginalized. “May God bless her with a long and healthy life,” he wished.
