Chandahandi, Dec, 12:  A preparatory meeting was held for the 26th Yadav Majhi Memorial Inter-State Cricket Tournament, organized by Palli Shree Yuvak Sangh in memory of the late Yadav Majhi, former Minister of Industry and prominent son of Panabeda village.

The meeting was held at Dandamunda Gadadhar Stadium. Former MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi, former MLA Prakash Chandra Majhi, senior leader Pramod Kumar Padhi, senior member Mohammad Hanif, lawyer Mohammad Husen, Jhumuklal Sahu, Neelamani Goud, Bhavesh Gaita, Himanshu Nayak, Manoranjan Mahapatra, Basudeb Suna, Parameswar Majhi, Shishir Majhi, and Jaysingh Nayak were among the key attendees.

During the meeting, discussions were held on how to organize the tournament attractively and in a peaceful manner. A total of 16 teams are expected to participate in the tournament, which will begin on January 14 and conclude with the final match on January 26.

The winning team will receive a prize of ₹1 lakh along with a trophy, while the runner-up team will receive ₹70,000 along with a trophy. This year, teams from Sundargarh, Balangir, Jharsuguda, Darnapal, Nuapada, Bastar Ekadash, Kalimela, Umarkot, and Surya Ekadash are expected to participate.

Among those present at the meeting were Balram Pattnayak, Simanchal Ganda, Sangram Kesari Sahu, Souriranjan Sahu, Dipanshu Kundu, Basant Bishoi, Lochan Nayak, Saroj Majhi, Ratnakar Sahu, Jagadish Raut, Suresh Mahanti, Pratap Goud, Dileep Nayak, Manoj Majhi, Gobardhan Dangri, Lingaraj Majhi, Umesh Sethi, and members of Palli Shree Yuvak Sangh including Yugal, Rakesh, Manas, and Bikash.
