Nabarangpur Jan, 05: A preparatory meeting for organizing the district-level Fisheries and Animal Resources Fair was held yesterday, 23.12.2025, under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain. Officers from the Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Department, along with officials from other departments, were present at the meeting.
With unanimous consent, it was decided that the District-Level Fisheries and Animal Resources Fair 2025 will be organized on January 4 and 5, 2026, at the playground of the local PM SHRI RCD High School, Nabarangpur.
The District Collector emphasized proper hospitality for invited guests and stressed that the general public and beneficiaries should be able to access information about various departmental schemes and avail their benefits. He also highlighted the need to conduct the fair in a peaceful and orderly manner.
The Chief District Veterinary Officer, Dr. Radheshyam Laik, explained in detail the main objectives of the fair to the members present. The primary aim of the fair is to ensure that various schemes being implemented by the State and Central Government Fisheries and Animal Resources Departments reach the people effectively and that beneficiaries are able to take full advantage of them.
During the two-day fair, activities and programmes of the Fisheries and Animal Resources Department, along with other departments, will be showcased through 25 stalls. Successful farmers who have achieved success by participating in various schemes of the Fisheries and Animal Resources Department will also be felicitated.
Arrangements have been made for about 700 fish farmers and livestock rearers from different blocks of the district to participate each day in the fair.
