Koraput, Nov 22 :A preparatory meeting for the upcoming district-level drama, music and painting competitions was held in the conference hall of the Jeypore Sub-Collector’s office. The meeting was presided over by Jeypore Sub-Collector Sushree Akkabara Reddy. District Culture Officer Suryakanta Behera, Jeypore Tahasildar Sabyasachi J. Jena, and BDO Shakti Mahapatra were present on the dais.
The principal of Jeypore Government College of Arts, members of the Jeypore Priya Theatre Group, artists, music directors, Jeypore Sub-Divisional Information and Public Relations Officer Yashoda Gadaba, along with representatives of various media organisations, participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, it was decided that the district-level drama, music and painting competitions would be held in Jeypore from December 2 to December 8.
The stage drama competition will be held at Geetanjali Kalyan Mandap, Jeypore, from December 2 to December 5.
The music competitions will be organised at Sangam Kalyan Mandap from December 3 to December 5. Three categories have been introduced: Tribal Songs, Bhajans and Folk Songs.
On December 6, prize distribution for winners of these events will take place at Geetanjali Kalyan Mandap.
On December 8, the painting competition will be held at the School of Arts.
It was decided that artists from all 14 blocks of the district, as well as students from schools, colleges and other institutions, will participate in these competitions.
