Jeypore, 20th Nov 2025: A preparatory meeting for the Jaypur Block-Level Festival 2025 was held in the conference hall of the Panchayat Samiti office. The meeting was presided over by Jaypur Block Chairperson Tilottama Muduli.
It was informed that the district-level festival inauguration will be celebrated on 12th November, while in Jaypur Block, the Gram Panchayat-level festival will be observed from 13th November to 23rd November. Similarly, the Block-Level Festival will begin on 24th November and conclude on 4th December.
As part of the festivities, a grand torch rally (Mashal Yatra) will mark the official commencement of the block-level celebrations. Every year the rally traditionally starts from the Jaypur Jagannath Temple, but this year it has been decided to start the torch rally from the Jagatjanani Temple. For this purpose, permission will be sought from the Jaypur Sub-Collector, the meeting resolved.
As in previous years, various sports and cultural competitions will be organized at both Panchayat and Block levels. To ensure smooth conduct of the festival, a Festival Management Committee, Stage Management Committee, and Invitation Committee have been formed. Following the guidelines of the District Administrative Committee, these committees will oversee festival activities in Jaypur Block.
Monday’s preparatory meeting was attended by Jaypur Group Development Officer Shakti Mahapatra, along with all departmental officers of the block, elected public representatives, Zilla Parishad members, all Sarpanches and Samiti members, CDPO Kanchan Bala Panda, and other dignitaries.
