Malkangiri, 27th Oct 2025: A preparatory meeting was held at the District Parishad Conference Hall, Malkangiri, ahead of the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, which will be celebrated across the district from October 27 to November 2.
The meeting was chaired by Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Bedabar Pradhan, with the presence of Additional District Magistrate Somanath Pradhan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Reserve) Raj Kishore Das, and DSP (Vigilance) Sadananda Pani, Malkangiri Vigilance Division, on the dais.
District and block-level departmental officers participated in the meeting, where a detailed discussion was held regarding the implementation of the government’s prescribed schedule for Vigilance Awareness Week at both district and grassroots levels.
The observance will begin on October 27, when all officials, employees, and public representatives will participate in the Vigilance Oath Ceremony administered virtually by the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
In addition, the Mission Shakti Department will organize a Vigilance Awareness Rally (Padayatra) involving members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to spread awareness against corruption. It was also decided to hold Gram Sabhas at the block and panchayat levels to engage local citizens in discussions about transparency and accountability.
ADM Bedabar Pradhan emphasized the importance of effective coordination to make the awareness week a success. Similarly, essay, poster, and cartoon caption competitions will be organized for college students to promote awareness among the youth.
Among those present were District Information and Public Relations Officer Pramila Majhi, District Zilla Parishad Finance Officer Manas Mishra, Balaji Pattnaik, and other district officials including BDOs, Tahasildars, and departmental heads.
