Preparations Kick Off for Durga Puja in Nabarangpur District

Nabarangpur, 26th Aug 2025: The Kalinga Kala and Cultural Youth Council of Guleipatna Street organized a preparatory meeting at the Baidyanath Temple for the upcoming Durga Puja.
The meeting was presided over by Jayadev Parida, President of the Baidyanath Temple Committee.

Last year’s expenditure report was presented by Sanjeev Sahu.

A new committee was formed with Sanjay Kumar Swain as President, Lakshmi Pujari, Giridhari Majhi, and Kush Sahu as Vice Presidents.

Ganesh Prasad Rana was chosen as Secretary, with Santosh Satapathy, Pintu Majhi, and Arun Pattnayak as Joint Secretaries, while Sanjeev Sahu will serve as Treasurer.

An 11-member working committee was also elected.

The auspicious “Shubha Khunti” ceremony will be held on August 28.

Discussions were held on ensuring the puja is conducted peacefully. Lakshmi Tripathy will oversee rituals.

Several dignitaries including Tulu Sahu, Bishnu Prasad Pattnayak, Jatin Panda, Ram Mania, Gada Bisoi, Srinivas Pattnayak, Seema Swain, Amit Karmakar, Nagesh Pattnayak, Tripati Pattnayak, Manas Sahu, Kuna Nayak, Tank Majhi, Satyanarayan Khuntia, Gopal Rao, Narayan Panigrahi, Ashok Patra, Debendra Nayak, Ghana Nayak, and Lituna Sahu attended.

Dabugaon:
At the Dabugaon Durga Puja Mandap, a preparatory meeting was held.

Suresh Chandra Behera presented last year’s accounts.

A new committee was formed: Surendra Kumar Mishra as President, Divyaranjan Ray Patra as Vice President, Santosh Ray Patra as Secretary, Shubhojit Panigrahi as Joint Secretary, Bhagaban Patra as Treasurer, and Suresh Behera as Joint Treasurer.

Advisors include G. Sai Raju, Prakash Chandra Panda, Kailash Bisoi, G. Gopal Krishna Rao, Kailash Singh Lal, Babi Jena, Gupta Bisoi, Surya Narayan Subudhi, Rajesh Agrawal, G. Satya Rao, R. Shankar Rao, Manoj Patra, and Bikash Nishank.

The committee resolved to make this year’s puja more attractive and to maintain peace and discipline.

Papdahandi:
The Papdahandi Bus Stand Public Durga Puja Committee performed the Shubha Khunti Puja today.

Water and soil were collected from the Thuri River and brought to the mandap.

Rituals were performed by priest Purnachandra Nayak.

Under the supervision of B. Jagan Mohan Rao, a committee meeting was held where it was decided to celebrate the puja with discipline, devotion, and grandeur.
