Nabarangpur,5th Nov 2025: The Nabarangpur District Cultural Council organized a preparatory meeting at the Ashok Meheta Auditorium for the main attraction of Mandei Festival 2025, the ‘Stage Plays’. The meeting was chaired by Additional District Collector Tapan Kumar Khuntia.
It was decided that the stage plays will be performed at the Local Shastri Bhavan (Town Hall) from December 3 to 7. This year’s plays will focus on social messages including child marriage, women’s education, women empowerment, superstitions, and drug prevention. These plays will form the core of this year’s stage play festival.
The participating teams will be honored for their performances, and the play manuscripts must be submitted to the District Cultural Officer’s office by December 20. Each performance will last a maximum of one hour, and a maximum of 20 artists per team will be allowed. Each block and municipality has been instructed to send one stage play team.
Present at the meeting were Additional District Collector Ashutosh Patra, District Cultural Officer Ghasia Harijan, members Manoj Kumar Pattnayak, Jyoti Paricha, Jagannath Behera, Bulu Hota, Durgaprasad Padhi, Dillip Kumar Hota, Debadas Mahankud, G.V.V. Ravi Prasad, Durgaprasad Pradhani, Vikram Das, Alok Sahu, Phalguni Patra, Yugol Kishore Tripathy, Prabhasini Mahanti, and G. Prakash Samantaray.
The meeting was assisted by Junior Assistant Atmaprakash Sahu and A. Santosh Kumar from the District Cultural Office.
