Narsinghpur, 21st Nov 2025: The first preparatory meeting for the 53rd Balijhari Maa Mahalakshmi Puja festival in Narsinghpur block was held at the Kanpur police station premises. The meeting was chaired by the festival committee’s permanent president and Narsinghpur Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Pralaya Nanda Satpathy. The permanent editor of the festival committee, Kanpur police officer Tapan Nayak, coordinated the meeting.
Other attendees included Executive President Sanjay Nayak, Executive Editor Nihar Ranjan Swain, Chief Engineer of the Electricity Department P.K. Sharma, Officer-in-Charge of Balijhari Fire Brigade Sushant Samal, committee members Maheshwar Sethi, retired headmaster Vishnu Charan Swain, Balijhari Gram Panchayat President Fakir Charan Raut, Trinath Bazaar Committee President Pranakrishna Subudhi, Akshay Behera, Ajit Chhotray, Fakir Charan Barik, Dambaru Swain, Tukuna Behera, Dibakar Mahanti, Ananta Katikia, and various other village panchayat members.
The festival yatra will begin on December 4 and continue until December 10, while the Bhasani festival will be held on December 12, according to the festival committee. Officials from 18 Puja mandaps attended the meeting to discuss arrangements related to the yatra.
