Ramachandrapur, Despite the state government’s guidelines advising against disconnecting household electricity connections during the summer, even if there are pending bills, an incident in Tigiria village, under Purunabandhagoda Panchayat, has raised concerns.
Yesterday, Kahnu Charan Senapati’s electricity connection was cut off due to pending dues. Even though he requested time to clear the outstanding bill, the electricity department staff ignored his plea and proceeded to climb the pole and disconnect the power supply.
Kahnu Charan Senapati, who is a heart patient, was left without electricity, and no one listened to his appeal. Shockingly, the power supply was disconnected in the presence of senior departmental officials.
Following the incident, Kahnu Charan’s son, Guru Charan Senapati, has filed a written complaint with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi regarding the matter.
