POSCO Returns to Odisha With Mega Steel Plant Project in Keonjhar

Keonjhar, 20th Aug 2025:  POSCO to Revive Odisha Mega Steel Plant Project. Hope Rekindled for Integrated Steel Plant in State. South Korea’s POSCO Group to set up an Integrated Steel Plant in Odisha. The project will be established in collaboration with JSW. After nearly two decades of uncertainty, POSCO is making a fresh attempt following the cancellation of its $12-billion project. POSCO had originally announced the mega project in 2005. In 2017, the plan was scrapped due to land acquisition hurdles and local opposition. Now, a new agreement between POSCO and JSW has paved the way for the steel plant revival.
