Nabarangpur: A public outreach camp was organized in Padamjhari village, Kursha Panchayat, Umerkote block with the joint efforts of Nabarangpur and Umerkote police. The camp commenced with a traditional welcome for the District Superintendent of Police, Mihir Kumar Panda, by the villagers. Following this, he was escorted to the event venue with a ceremonial procession.
As part of the event, the chief guest inaugurated volleyball and cricket matches, followed by various cultural programs.
The camp was attended by Umerkote Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Shubhendu Sabar, Assistant Commandant (Anti-Naxal Squad) Satya Ranjan Pal, Umerkote In-Charge Inspector Shivaji Kumar Panda, Sub-Inspector Akshay Kumar Dith, and DVF jawans.
During the camp, several welfare initiatives were undertaken, including:
Health check-ups for villagers and free distribution of medicines
Distribution of sarees for women
Educational materials for students
Sports equipment for youth
Blankets, umbrellas, and solar lights for the elderly
The event aimed to strengthen community-police relations while addressing the needs of the local population.
