Police Department Conducts Cyber Safety Awareness Program at MV-79

Malkangiri ,28th Oct 2025: Under the Cyber Safety Campaign Odisha–2025, a cyber security awareness program was organized by the Police Department at the premises of MV-79 Police Station, under Kalimela block of Malkangiri district.

The campaign, part of the District Action Plan running from 18th October to 17th November 2025, aims to raise public awareness about online safety and cybercrime prevention.

Local officials and members of the public participated in the program. Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Mr. Chandrakant Tandi of MV-79 Police Station addressed the gathering and discussed various forms of online frauds — including scams conducted through Facebook, WhatsApp, and banking channels. He urged people to remain vigilant and avoid sharing personal or financial information with unknown sources.

The main objective of this campaign is to enhance public awareness about cybercrime and ensure the safety of citizens in the digital space. Participants were also informed about the Cyber Helpline Number – 1930 and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal for reporting online crimes.

At the end of the event, all attendees took a pledge to stay alert against cyber frauds and contribute towards the success of the Cyber Safety Campaign.
