Umarkote, Jan, 20:  The first annual function of Podagada Adarsha Van Vidyalaya under Umarkote block was celebrated with great enthusiasm.

The programme was held under the chairmanship of founder Dr. Kailash Chandra Behera. The Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Shri Shubendu Kumar Sabar, attended as the chief guest. Among the distinguished guests were Municipal Executive Officer Alok Kumar Anugulia, State Bar Association Vice-President Narsingh Tripathy, freedom fighter family descendant and State Smruti Sabha President Manoranjan Tripathy, Asar Jani, School President Uddhab Charan Nayak, Vice-President Krushna Chandra Pattanayak, and many other eminent personalities.

Teacher Jagadish Bhatra presented the annual report of the school.
On this occasion, Manoranjan Tripathy was honoured with the “Veer Chouria Samman” and Advocate Narsingh Tripathy was honoured with the “Baba Bhairab Samman”.
Prizes were distributed to meritorious students who excelled in various sports competitions.

Later, students presented colourful cultural programmes.

Headmistress Jayashree Behera, teachers Shubhashree Behera, Niharika Mahanti, Sabita Santa, Mamata Bhatra, Pramila Bhatra, Anita Santa, Sanjukta Santa, Parbati Harijan, along with Madan Pujari, Maniram Bisoyi and Abinash Seth cooperated in organising the programme, while teacher Karuna Pujari anchored the event.
