PM Modi from Red Fort: Sudarshan Chakra to Be India’s New Security Shield

New Delhi,26th Aug 2025: On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag for the 12th consecutive time at the historic Red Fort, followed by a 103-minute-long address to the nation.

In his speech, he touched upon a wide range of issues—Operation Sindoor, terrorism, the Indus Water Treaty, self-reliance, Make in India, infiltration, and illegal immigration. Without directly naming U.S. President Donald Trump, he also responded to tariff measures imposed on India.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister announced five major missions:

→ Strengthening and modernizing India’s national security shield
→ GST reforms as a “Diwali gift” to the common people
→ Launch of the PM Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana
→ A Demography Mission to curb border infiltrations
→ A collective effort by 140 crore Indians to fulfill the Viksit Bharat vision

Sudarshan Chakra Mission

PM Modi declared that the “Sudarshan Chakra Mission” will soon be launched. Inspired by Lord Krishna’s divine weapon, India aims to develop its own Sudarshan Chakra by 2035.

This advanced defense system will be researched, developed, and manufactured entirely in India. It will not only neutralize terrorist attacks but also deliver a strong counter-response. Much like Israel’s Iron Dome, India’s Sudarshan Chakra Mission will serve as a powerful air-defense shield, providing protection to populated areas and critical establishments.

GST Reforms as a Festive Gift

The Prime Minister also announced next-generation GST reforms, calling them a Diwali gift to the people. These reforms will reduce taxes on essential commodities, directly benefiting MSMEs, local traders, and households.
