New Delhi, 23rd Sept 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the nation and extended greetings for Navratri, while announcing the rollout of a new GST (Goods and Services Tax) reform starting from September 22. This reform is aimed at reducing prices, increasing savings for the middle class, benefiting the youth, and accelerating India’s economic growth.
The Prime Minister described the reform as a “gift of savings” for every household and a major step towards building a Developed and Self-Reliant India. He emphasized the importance of ‘Made in India’ products and urged citizens to take pride in purchasing indigenous goods.
Key Highlights of PM Modi’s Speech:
- Lower Prices, More Savings: The GST reforms will bring price reductions on various goods and services, thereby boosting consumer savings, especially for the middle class.
- ₹2.5 Lakh Crore in Savings Expected: The reforms are projected to generate a national saving of ₹2.5 lakh crore over time.
- Rollout on Navratri Sunrise: The new GST structure will come into effect from the sunrise of Navratri, marking a symbolic beginning for economic reforms.
