Nabarangpur, Nov 28:  A pilot digital census is being conducted in three locations of the state, including Tentulikhunti block of Nabarangpur district.

The digital survey is currently underway in 20 villages under the revenue circles of Kukudabai, Kantagaon, and Jharigumma within Tentulikhunti block. A three-day training program was conducted earlier to prepare for this survey.

For the exercise, 66 enumerators and 11 supervisors have been appointed. Each enumerator is conducting the census in a separate village using a mobile app, which will store all census data digitally. The survey is scheduled to run from November 10 to November 30.

Unlike earlier censuses conducted on paper, this is the first time the census is being conducted using a mobile app, generating significant interest among the local population. Residents are actively participating and providing complete information about themselves and their families.

Tentulikhunti Tehsildar Pushpanjali Dandapat stated that the census is being conducted in 20 villages across four revenue circles in the block: Kantagaon, Anchalgumma, Jharigumma, and Kukudabai. He emphasized that full cooperation from the public is essential for the success of the survey.
