Nabarangpur: A “Philanthropic Service Vow” award ceremony was organized by the Nabarangpur District Social Welfare Organization, ‘Icons in Motion’. The event was held at the premises of the ancient Hanuman Temple in Nabarangpur. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Nabarangpur Municipality Chairperson Kunu Nayak, who attended the event along with distinguished guests, including senior members of the organization Prabhallad Das, retired teacher Ananta Kumar Shatapathi, and Prabhakar Patra.
This event marked a significant milestone as the district celebrated the first-ever innovative ceremony of its kind, which has now created a new history in Nabarangpur. The ‘Icons in Motion’ initiative, which started nearly 99 years ago in 1001 AD, has now grown into a large movement with the support of youth and visionaries, taking forward the spirit of service. The organization has expanded from its humble beginnings two years ago, growing into a significant force with great contributions to the community.
The ceremony celebrated various social welfare activities that the organization has been involved in, including cleanliness campaigns, the upkeep of cremation grounds, and organizing cultural and spiritual events. The award recognized individuals and groups who have contributed selflessly to these causes, including those who have worked in the funeral service and transportation sectors.
In addition, several committees, such as the local service committee, cemetery committee, and music groups, were honored for their tireless contributions to community welfare. The ceremony also saw the participation of councilors and media representatives, who were awarded tokens of appreciation for their support.
This event stands as a testament to the efforts of the ‘Icons in Motion’ initiative, creating a unique identity for itself and advancing social welfare in Nabarangpur district and beyond.
