Bhubaneswar: The state government has issued directions to district administrations to ensure that beneficiaries who face difficulties in reaching the panchayat office to collect their pension should receive the pension at their doorstep.
Under the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana, the government has instructed District Social Security Officers (DSSOs) to make arrangements to deliver pensions at home for:
Individuals aged 80 years or above
Beneficiaries with 80% or more disability
The Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, R.S. Gopalan, sent a letter to all DSSOs on Wednesday with these instructions.
He stated, “Many beneficiaries are unable to physically reach the pension distribution center due to frail health conditions. Therefore, arrangements must be made to ensure delivery of pension at their homes.”
