‘Parab’ Festival to Commence from Kutunipadar on November 12

Jeypore, 31st Oct 2025:  A preparatory meeting for the celebration of the Koraput District Tribal Festival ‘Parab’ was held at the Sadbhavana Hall, Koraput. The meeting was presided over by District Collector Manoj Satyaban Mahajan.

Attending the meeting were Koraput MLA Raghuram Machha, Pottangi MLA Ramachandra Kadam, Laxmipur MLA Pavitra Saunta, IAS Probationer Santosh Kumar Patra, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sasmita Meleka, Chairman of Koraput Municipality Lalat Ranjan Sethi, Koraput SP Rohit Verma, Chief Development and Executive Officer Benudhar Sabar, Koraput Sub-Collector Premlal Hial, Project Administrator of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Sneha Prabha Majhi, District Welfare Officer Sunil Tandi, Tehsildar Syed Sabir Saha, and MP representative Manoj Acharya, along with several other district officials.

All participants shared their opinions and suggestions regarding the festival preparations.

It was decided that ‘Parab 2025’ will begin on November 12 at the Shiva Temple in Kutunipadar, under the Laxmipur Block.

The block and panchayat-level celebrations will take place from November 13 to November 23, while block headquarters and urban area celebrations will be held from November 24 to December 4.

The district-level ‘Parab’ festival will be celebrated at the Koraput Municipal grounds from December 18 to December 22.

On this occasion, there will be a Pallishree Mela (rural fair) and Food Festival, along with a newly introduced Flower Exhibition.

The meeting was coordinated by District Culture Officer Suryakanta Behera, who also delivered the vote of thanks.
