Panchayat and Municipal Elections to Be Held Next Year

Bhubaneswar,  Jan, 23:  Panchayat elections will be held in January–February next year.
The information was shared by the State Election Commissioner during a preparatory meeting.
“As the current term is coming to an end, fresh elections will be conducted.”
“Today, a preliminary preparatory meeting was held for those elections.”
“A door-to-door voter survey will be conducted for both Panchayat and Municipal elections.”
The voter survey will be completed by March next year, said the State Election Commissioner.
“The voter survey may be delayed by about a month due to the census.”
“This survey has no connection with SIR.”
“If required, booths may be reorganized.”
“The primary objective is to ensure polling booths are located close to voters.”
