Jharigaon, Jan, 01: The paddy procurement centre (Dhaan Mandi) was formally inaugurated at the RMC godown located at the headquarters of Dhodra Panchayat under Jharigaon Block of Nabarangpur district.
The centre was inaugurated in the presence of Jharigaon MLA Narasingh Bhatra, who formally declared the mandi open. Others present on the occasion included RMC official Prashant Ray, Dhodra Mandal President Bhujabal Goud, Subas Panaka, senior BJP worker from Chandahandi block Pratap Bag, Rajesh Gupta, Sujan Bhakta, along with farmers, LAMP staff, and labourers.
According to information received, more paddy procurement centres are scheduled to be inaugurated in the coming days: Jharigaon on Monday, Ekamba on Tuesday, Chacha on Wednesday, Chatiguda on Friday, and Belgaon on Saturday.
Although the procurement target has not yet been announced, it has been informed that Chacha Maa Laxmi Group and Dhodra Mirabai Group will be involved in paddy procurement. So far, around 3,000 farmers have been registered for paddy procurement.
