Rayagada,16th Aug 2025: On the occasion of the sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan, the Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS), in collaboration with the District Council, has organized a Rakhi Festival from the 5th to the 9th in front of Tribal Worlds and ITDA.
This festival aims to provide an active platform for rural artisans, self-help groups (SHGs), and producer groups to showcase and sell Rakhis, eco-friendly products, traditional handicrafts, and indigenous food items. The event was inaugurated by Akshay Kumar Khemundu, the Chief Development Officer of Rayagada district.
Among others present were Sub-Collector Ramesh Kumar Jena, ITDA Project Administrator Chandrakant Majhi, Tahasildar Priyadarshini Swain, and the District Information and Public Relations Officer.
Various handicrafts, bamboo Rakhis, organic products, millet-based food, medicinal items, and more are being displayed and sold by SHGs and producer groups from the district. The administration has appealed to the people of the district to purchase rural products and contribute to the empowerment of rural producers.
