ORMAS Inaugurates Diwali Stall Showcasing Local Products

Nabarangpur, 22nd Oct 2025:  On the occasion of Diwali, a special Diwali exhibition stall was inaugurated near the Nabarangpur Tehsil Office by the School and Mass Education Department, in collaboration with ORMAS (Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society).

The event was inaugurated by Minister Nityananda Gond, and attended by:

Gaurishankar Majhi, MLA of Nabarangpur

Dr. Maheshwar Swaing

Biswajit Barman, Additional District Collector

Roshan Kumar Kartik, Assistant CEO, ORMAS

Manoj Behera, DIPRO (District Information and Public Relations Officer)

Mission Shakti DPC

Deputy Director, Handicrafts Department

DCO and staff from ORMAS

Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and artisans from Nabarangpur, Papadahandi, Chandahandi, Dabugaon, and Limbhapada participated in the event. They showcased a wide variety of traditional and handcrafted items such as:

Clay diyas (lamps)

Decorative items

Beautiful sculptures

Artificial flowers

Tribal handicrafts

Terracotta crafts

All attendees were encouraged to buy locally made (swadeshi) diyas and celebrate Diwali in a safe and eco-friendly manner, promoting local artisans and self-reliance.

Minister Nityananda Gond called upon the public to celebrate the Festival of Lights with indigenous products, adding that such initiatives help in uplifting rural artisans and promoting traditional culture.
