Kodinga: In an incident that occurred around 12 noon on Monday in Kodinga village of Kosagumuda block, Nabarangpur district, 65-year-old Lalit Bindhani was seriously injured after being hit by an overloaded sand-laden tipper. The accident took place under Kodinga Gram Panchayat. A case has been registered at Kodinga Police Station under case number 82/25.
According to Kodinga police officer Yugala Sabar, the tipper involved in the accident has been seized and an investigation is underway. As per reports, Lalit was returning home from the weekly market when the tipper (bearing registration number JH-05CK-5115) heading towards Nabarangpur struck him on the main road near Kodinga.
At the accident site, Lalit suffered a fractured leg along with serious injuries to his head and hands. He was first rushed to Kodinga Primary Health Centre by ambulance. After initial treatment, he was referred to the District Headquarters Hospital for further care.
