Nabarangpur, 23rd Sept 2025: On the occasion of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s birthday, an inspiring environmental initiative titled “Ek Ped Maa Ke Liye – 2.0” (A Tree for Mother) was launched in Semala under Papadahandi block of Nabarangpur district.
The program was organized by Babulaal Sagar, Coordinator of the Semala Regional Resource Center, with enthusiastic participation from schools, headmasters, teachers, and students.
Program Highlights:
In each participating school, students were encouraged to plant trees in honor of their mothers.
Through songs, slogans, and storytelling, children were taught the importance of trees, including slogans like:
“Vriksha Devaya Namah” (Salutations to the Tree God)
“A Tree for Mother”
“Mother Earth is Our Responsibility”
The campaign fostered a spirit of environmental responsibility and emphasized values like:
Protecting nature
Gratitude towards mothers
Viewing trees as living treasures
At Gadba Kattara Ashram School, the event was held under the leadership of Sarpanch Narendra Gadba. The tree plantation drive included the presence of:

CRCC (Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator) Lal Kishore, who shared life stories of great environmentalists to instill the importance of trees in young minds.
Outcomes and Impact:
Nirmal Kumar Behera, Headmistress of Semala High School, motivated students to become generous individuals like trees, and to grow into compassionate citizens.
The initiative, driven by Babulaal Sagar, received praise from the intellectual community for effectively connecting emotional values (like love for one’s mother) with environmental action.
