Bhubaneswar:Jan, 02:  As their long-pending demands continue to be ignored, the Odisha Medical Services Association (OMSA) has finally issued a warning of a statewide strike. OMSA stated that if their demands are not fulfilled, doctors will resort to a complete work stoppage.

This warning was issued during a press conference held on Tuesday by OMSA. The association’s General Secretary, Dr. Sanjeeb Pradhan, informed that doctors have been working while wearing black badges since November 20 to press for their demands.
The association has placed 18 demands, which include implementation of central pay scale, cadre restructuring, provision of facilities for dental doctors, annual promotions, government quarters for doctors, insurance facilities, and other benefits.

If the demands are not met, OPD services will be suspended for one hour from December 26. Even after that, if the demands remain unmet, OMSA has warned that a full-scale work stoppage agitation will begin from January.
